Professor Yang Feng Wins Second Prize in China's 10th Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Awards for Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences)

Recently, the winners of the 10th Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Awards for Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) were officially announced. Professor Yang Feng of our Law School received the Second Prize for his paper The Typified Application of General Clauses in Commercial Law, published in Issue No. 2 (2022) of Social Sciences in China.

The Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Awards for Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) are the highest-level government awards in China's university humanities and social sciences sector, representing the nation's highest standards of academic research in these fields. Since their establishment in 1995, the awards have been presented ten times, generally every three or four years. In this year's selection, 1,499 research achievements were recognized nationwide. Nanchang University received two Second Prizes, one Third Prize in the monograph and paper category, and two Youth Achievement Awards.

Professor Yang had previously won the Second Prize at the 9th Outstanding Achievement Awards for Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) for his paper The Logical Structure and Judicial Application of Commercial Law Thinking, published in the journal China Legal Science. Receiving the award again demonstrates his outstanding academic achievements and influence in the fields of commercial law theory and commercial law methodology. It also reflects the Law School's sustained progress in disciplinary development and high-level research. Looking ahead, the School will continue to focus on practical issues in China's rule of law, produce more original and influential scholarly achievements, and contribute to the development of an independent Chinese legal knowledge system.
