Nanchang University Law School receives designation as a Compliance Officer Training Demonstration Base by the China International Chamber of Commerce

On 26 July, the 2023 International Forum on Corporate Compliance, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, was successfully held at the National People's Congress Conference Center in Beijing. This year's forum, themed "Corporate Compliance and High-Quality Development", focused on topics such as the trends in corporate compliance development in the new era, regulatory policy updates and challenges, and the cultivation of compliance professionals. In addition, three sub-forums were set up to discuss corporate compliance in international business, the pharmaceutical industry and the automotive industry. Over 300 representatives from Fortune Global 500 and Top 500 Chinese companies, business associations, think tanks and industry experts attended the forum. Dr Deng Jianzhong, Vice Dean of Nanchang University School of Law, and Dr Jiang Chuan, a faculty member of the School of Law and Deputy Director of Nanchang Xiaolan Economic and Technological Development Zone, were invited to attend and participate in the signing ceremony.

During the opening ceremony of the Forum, a signing ceremony was held between the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Legal Centre, local promotion councils and relevant institutions to jointly establish a training demonstration base for corporate compliance professionals. Nanchang University Law School will cooperate with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Legal Center, the Provincial Promotion Council and the Nanchang Xiaolan Economic and Technological Development Zone to develop the corporate compliance training demonstration base in Nanchang. This demonstration base aims to cultivate compliance professionals with an international perspective and meet market demands, promote the internationalisation, specialisation and systemisation of compliance professional training, and improve the level of corporate compliance construction in Jiangxi Province and even the whole country.

It is worth mentioning that the training demonstration base for corporate compliance professionals in Nanchang, jointly established by Nanchang University School of Law, is one of the first four-party cooperation models in the country and the only demonstration base in the province. Nanchang University School of Law is the only university-level training unit to attend the signing ceremony of this base. The School of Law will actively cooperate with relevant provincial and municipal units, leverage the strengths of all parties, effectively manage the demonstration base, comprehensively strengthen the training of compliance professionals, and enhance the domestic and international competitiveness of enterprises in Jiangxi Province.
