The Law School holds a book launch ceremony for distinguished alumnus lawyer Xu Jianzhang's new publication "Twenty Years of a Lawyer in Nanchang"

On 9 June 2023, the distinguished alumnus of the Law School, lawyer Xu Jianzhang of Jiangxi Yuzhang Law Firm, visited his alma mater for a visit and discussion, and generously donated a new book entitled "Twenty Years of Lawyers in Nanchang". The school's Party Secretary Zhou Man, Vice Dean Deng Jianzhong, Professors Li Guangman and Liu Yi warmly welcomed the visiting alumnus and expressed their gratitude for his genuine affection for his alma mater.

Before the symposium began, Secretary Zhou Man led lawyer Xu Jianzhang and his delegation to visit the Law School's Wall of Honour and the Alumni House, and gave a detailed introduction to the recent development of the school and college.

At the opening of the meeting, Secretary Zhou Man warmly welcomed Attorney Xu Jianzhang and expressed his sincere appreciation for his newly published book, "Twenty Years of Lawyers in Nanchang". The book chronicles the development of lawyers in Nanchang and Jiangxi, covering both historical dimensions and the sentiments and cultural responsibilities of the era. During the meeting, Dean Yang Feng also came to offer his congratulations.

Lawyer Xu Jianzhang thanked the College for the warm welcome and shared his professional experience and the process of writing his book. With over 30 years of practice since graduating from the College, he has witnessed the development of the legal profession in Nanchang. The initial intention of writing this book was to document the history of lawyers in Nanchang. When young lawyers ask us about the early days of lawyers and law firms, I hope they can find answers in this book. When young lawyers ask us how the lawyers of that time made their way, they can see their unwavering commitment to the legal profession through the intricate experiences of these veteran lawyers.

Vice Dean Deng Jianzhong specifically mentioned Attorney Xu Jianzhang's deep attachment to his alma mater, especially his concern and support for the development of the Law School. Professor Li Guangman, Professor Liu Yi and others then shared their fond memories of their student days. At the same time, they expressed their admiration for Attorney Xu Jianzhang's new book, emphasizing the importance of personal historical studies, which have existed since ancient times. The book, Twenty Years of Lawyers in Nanchang, is of great significance in further promoting the humanistic tradition of lawyers in Jiangxi.

Finally, the students present interacted with lawyer Xu Jianzhang, speaking freely and expressing their thoughts and aspirations. Lawyer Xu Jianzhang nominated the students in his new book and conveyed his blessings to them, hoping that they would uphold noble ideals, excel in professional knowledge, and contribute to the construction of a legal China.
